Twitter review 2021: Lata Mangeshkar and AR Rahman among the 5 best musical artists in India

American social media giant Twitter posted a list of the best musical moments that struck a chord with its Indian users in 2021. This list also featured the Indian artists most tweeted about musical artists. These included Korean group BTS, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, songwriter AR Rahman, American pop sensation Taylor Swift, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story songwriter Armaan Malik.

The most retweeted tweet of 2021 was BTS’s tweet about racial crimes against Asians in the United States. “During a period in which we have seen an increase in hate crimes against Asians, BTS put their influence and many followers to good use, sharing a powerful message with the goal of #StopAsianHate,” according to Twitter. . BTS tweeted a condolence message in Korean and English for the bereaved families and also said the group has its moments of discrimination as Asians as well.

“We send our deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. We feel grief and anger. We remember times when we were discriminated against as Asians. We endured cursing for no reason and made fun of our appearance. We were even asked why Asians speak English, ”the K-pop group wrote in the post. Other tweets featuring BTS were the hairstyle of its member Jimin and a selfie of him with another member of the group.

Lata Mangeshkar celebrated her 92nd birthday on September 28th. On this occasion, the Nightingale of India released a heartwarming vocal note for its listeners of all age groups. In this Hindi voice note, Mangeshkar can be heard thanking his listeners for sending so many greetings, letters and pictures on his birthday.

AR Rahman has kept his fans hooked throughout the year. Whether it’s sharing details about his directorial debut, 99 songs on Twitter Spaces, or talking about converting one of his songs to NFT. He tweeted, “I want to release the source track for ‘Phir se Ud Chala’ by Rockstar (Hamsa) as NFT. The profits will also benefit the Indian music community which suffered during the pandemic. What do you think?”

Armaan Malik teamed up with acclaimed K-pop star Eric Nam and music producer KSHMR for the song Echo while Taylor Swift rocked social media with chartbusters like re-recordings of her albums Fearless and Red. Meanwhile, the most discussed hashtags related to music in India this year were #BTS, #BBMAsTopSocial, #iHeartAwards, #BLACKPINK and #ENHYPEN.
