BJ Thomas died at age 78 on May 29 and his fellow artists pay tribute to him.
The five-time Grammy winner and Grammy Hall of Fame inductee died at his Arlington, Texas home on Saturday of complications from stage four lung cancer.
Since the start of his career in the 1960s, Thomas’s career has spanned gospel, country and pop, selling over 70 million albums worldwide.

He is one of Billboard’s 50 Most Performed Artists over the past 50 years with hits like “Hooked On A Feeling”, “I Just Can’t Help Believing” and “Don’t Worry Baby”.
Other iconic songs include his cover of “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” by Hank Williams and his Oscar “Raindrops Keep Fallin ‘On My Head”.
“Raindrops Keep Fallin ‘On My Head” was first featured in “Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid” but has since appeared in numerous films including “Spider-Man 2” and “Forrest Gump”.

However, Thomas “was the proudest of his family”.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of 53 years, their daughters Paige Thomas, Nora Cloud and Erin Moore and four grandchildren Nadia Cloud, Keira Cloud, Ruby Moore and Billy Joe Moore.
In lieu of flowers, in-memoriam donations will be accepted by Mission Arlington, Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Texas SPCA.
Following the announcement of his death, many musical artists paid tribute to him.

We both had Texan roots, similar beliefs, and we loved finding each other and playing new songs. The first time we met, we both talked. It was just crazy. We had so much to say to each other that we were talking almost at the same time and it became funny for both of us. We had so much fun together, getting to know each other in such a short time.
