Major electronic dance music albums set to release in 2021
There is undoubtedly a long list of electronic dance music artists whose albums we are waiting for. With the pandemic and live event cancellations, artists have put many projects on hold. As vaccinations begin to roll around the world, the future of live music doesn’t look so bleak anymore. We can predict that in 2021 and 2022 we will see a high number of albums coming out. That being said, we’ve compiled a list of artists who are slated to release albums this year. This list is based on confirmed news or credible speculation.
Skrillex is a producer who has transformed his sound through multiple aliases and projects. From dubstep to house, the American producer and DJ has amassed a huge fan base across various genres. Its ability to create a distinctive sound true to its identity has accelerated its growth in recent years. After his debut album in 2014, ‘Break‘, fans were waiting for a second Skrillex album.
In January 2020, speaking on Beats 1 by Zane Lowe radio show, Skrillex revealed that working on this album was the first time he could take time and work on a full project when he wasn’t on the road. He confirmed the same month, on Instagram, that he was working on the final mixes for the record. In October 2020, Skrillex uploaded a track to SoundCloud titled ‘Empyrean of Kliptown‘in which many speculate is a small teaser for the album. We anticipate that Skrillex’s new album will be released in 2021 and that it will encompass his diverse sound from his various projects.
